During the St. Louis World's Fair in 1904, Richard Blechyden served tea with ice. That gave birth to what we all know today as iced tea. During the same event, the ice cream cone was also invented. An ice cream vendor ran out of cups and enlisted the help of a waffle vendor to roll up waffles to hold the ice cream. It was also during this time when Dr. Pepper was introduced and 7-Up was invented.
St. Louis is also called "The Gateway to the West."
St. Louis is where the book and movie "The Exorcist" was inspired. It is where the demonic possession took place.
The best things in life are free and that is why St. Louis is famous for its attractions that you can enjoy for free.
Forest Park is a sprawling 1,300-acre worth of activities. There are zoos, museums, and a golf course. You can witness summer concerts here, as well as a jog in the area. Other activities include boating and tennis. There is never a dull time at Forest Park.
The famous World's Fair of 1904 that gave birth to many food inventions was held here.
The Forest Park is located at the west of downtown St. Louis near The Loop.
The Loop is a district of restaurants, bars, cafes, and boutiques. Aside from food tripping, you can come across great finds when you shop in this area.
The Loop is on Delmar Blvd., north of Forest Park.
Anheuser-Busch Brewery is famous for its Clydesdale horses. The visitors here are given two complimentary drinks and the tour guides share various trivia about beer.

The Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis is famous for its mosaics collection that can be found on the walls and ceiling. There are about 42 million glass pieces that make it one of the biggest in the world.
The cathedral can be found on Lindell Boulevard, just east of Forest Park. This is a free attraction that is open from 7 am to 5 pm every day. Although free, the cathedral requires a small donation if you go to the lower level mosaics museum.
Built 50 years ago, it rises about 630 feet up in the air. It is a free attraction but should you want to ride to the top of the Gateway Arch, there's a fee. The Gateway Arch is on the Mississippi River in the downtown area.
