During the St. Louis World’s Fair in 1904, Richard Blechyden served tea with ice. That gave birth to what we all know today as iced tea. During the same event, the ice cream cone was also invented. An ice cream vendor ran out of cups and enlisted the help of a waffle vendor to roll up waffles to hold the ice cream. It was also during this time when Dr. Pepper was introduced and 7-Up was invented.
St. Louis is also called “The Gateway to the West.”
St. Louis is where the book and movie “The Exorcist” was inspired. It is where the demonic possession took place.
